Heather Reynolds is a lifetime resident of Johnson County and has been your County Treasurer since 2013. She obtained two Bachelor of Science Degrees from the University of Central Missouri, one in Finance and the other in Marketing. Before becoming your Johnson County Treasurer she worked in banking and real estate and continues to hold her Broker’s license. Heather has been on the board for Big Brothers Big Sisters of Johnson County since 2010, is a member of Northside Christian Church, a member of the Republican Women’s Club and is on the Republican Central Committee.
The Treasurer’s office has many responsibilities. They receipt in monies from the various offices, disburse monies to the schools and other districts and invest funds for the County. Monthly settlement of the books is also a responsibility of the Treasurer’s office along with presenting such statement to the Commissioners. Heather, and her Deputy Treasurer, Laurie Donald, maintain over 85 funds and ensure that they are being maintained appropriately. The unclaimed property in Johnson County is maintained in this office as well and is distributed to the State Treasurer’s office per Missouri Statute. She also maintains records for grants and cemeteries.
Heather is married to Jarrod Reynolds and they have two children, a son Jacob (Blue Springs), and a daughter Kayelee (of the home). They own and manage a farm in Johnson County with Jarrod’s brother and sister-in-law.
